In our Yoga Empowered for Chronic Conditions weekly class, students and I have discovered a few Yoga techniques that are totally accessible and incredibly helpful to do in daily life, off the mat, out of the studio aka on your own! to bring yourself back into balance. Here they are - just for You!
Alternate Nostril Exhale.
This is one of my secret weapons to re-establish balance and to release tension or unease when I'm out and about. I'm stoked to have heard a few students' stories on how they've used this technique on their own! Whenever you feel overwhelmed, about to blow or like you need a quick pick me up- Alternate Nostril Exhale is your Girl! Step into a bathroom stall (wash your hands first :o), step into another room/ office and close the door or even dare I suggest it- while waiting in traffic... give this a go! Watch below or click here to watch.

Another secret weapon- Tadasana or Mountain Pose!
This posture is one you can practice anywhere whenever you are standing. Worst thing that may come is that you'll be accused of having great posture :o) When you need a lift in spirit or just plain gumption to get something done breathe in Tadasana (standing or seated) for 3-5 breaths. Yup that's it! Simple right?! Watch below or click here to watch. One more! That's right! Here's a post about adding Yoga to your Day with Breath Awareness!
Reread this gem and use it to refuel Your Practice. You can do this wherever you are, however you are to bring mindfulness to your moment, to bring yourself into a place of more comfort and ease, and to empower yourself!
