About Suzanne Stephens

Hey there, I'm Suzanne Stephens. I teach an empowering and meditative style of yoga based on meeting your needs and developing Practices that best serve you. I specialize in teaching students to meet themselves where they are and to practice to bring themselves to a greater place of balance and ease utilizing yoga tools (movement/ asana, breath/pranayama, meditation, self-study + ritual). I bring many years of mindfulness meditation practice to my teachings and to my classes.

In addition to this project- I teach 3 weekly Yoga Empowered for Chronic Conditions classes in Seattle, Wa - Gentle and Strong. I offer Annual Yoga Empowered for Chronic Conditions Urban Retreats for Chronic Conditions students, Yoga Nidra Private sessions and workshops as able. I'm currently working on my first book - Yoga Empowered for Chronic Conditions.

Yoga Practice is meant to fit it's Practitioner- You. I just here to help you find the things that resonate with you the most to continue to build and enrich Your Practice. It's here for you to discover and uncover practices that resonate with you and that empower you to Live as your Best Self. Yoga Training
 
I am a 500 hour certified yoga instructor trained in the Viniyoga lineage by Tracy Weber at Whole Life Yoga Studio in Seattle, WA. My final 300 hours of training emphasized Therapeutic Yoga applications.
 
I'm registered with Yoga Alliance (500 RYT) and am proud to be referred by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater NW Chapter. I completed the Level 1 iRest® Yoga Nidra training in October 2011 through the Integrative Restoration Institute with Richard Miller. I completed an 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Training and bring 10+ years experience of Mindfulness Practice to my classes. I'm a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
 
I continue to train, practice and enrich my teachings as well as my Personal Yoga Practice.Visit the resources page on this site to find out more about my influences.

Other Supporting Skills

After being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2003, I began taking Yoga classes at a local YMCA to manage stress. In this time of uncertainty my Yoga Practice empowered me to use my body to feel better. Several years of study and practice have followed. I still have MS but MS doesn’t have me any more.
